CXBN-2 in orbit

 May 17, 2017

On 16th May the CXBN-2 (Cosmic X-Ray Background) CubeSat constructed by the students and scientists of Morehead State University in cooperation with the Keldysh Institute has been successfully deployed from the ISS.Our group developed the algorithms of the nanosatellite’s controlled angular motion control.

The aim of the mission is measuring the anisotropy of the cosmic X-ray background in a given frequency range. In the picture taken from the ISS immediately after the deployment one can see two cubesats, CXBN-2 is on the left.

We congratulate all the participants of the project!
